Transportation

Best Western Fairfax is roughly equidistant from both Dulles International Airport (IAD, 15.0 miles) and Reagan National Airport (DCA, 18.1 miles). We recommend Dulles as there will be less traffic around Dulles as it is further away from the heart of DC. Nevertheless, below is relevant information about traveling to both airports and then from the airport to the hotel.

Taxi

  • No reservations are necessary for taxi service. Simply follow the signs for Ground Transportation or Taxi to the lower level of the Terminal, DOWN the ramp to Door 2 or Door 6). A customer service representative is available 24-hours a day.
  • Cash or credit card: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Diners Club are accepted by all cabs
  • Estimation of taxi fee to hotel is $40-50.
• Reagan
  • Proceed from any terminal Baggage Claim through the doors to the curbside where taxi lines are clearly marked.
  • If paying by credit card, please notify Taxicab Dispatcher.
  • Estimation of taxi fee to hotel is $40-50.

Uber / Lyft

• Uber and Lyft service Dulles and Reagan.

• To access Uber or Lyft, simply download the Uber app or Lyft app from the App Store on iOS or the Play Store on Android.
• Create an account if necessary (you will need to provide your credit card information).
• Once you request a ride in the app, it will direct you on where to go to get picked up.
• Estimation of Uber or Lyft fee to hotel from Dulles is $25-35 and from Reagan it is $28-42.
  • Note: these fees are dependent on the demand which is affected by the time of the day you arrive.

Shuttle

• There are no shuttle services from Dulles or Reagan to the Best Western Fairfax in Fairfax, VA.

Rental Cars

• If you are interested in obtaining a rental car, many services are available and information is available on the Dulles or Reagan website.

Parking

Parking is free for all DE participants (project-funded or self-funded) at the Best Western Fairfax hotel. Linear Algebra participants will be able to park at the Fairfax High School.
